Ethical Investments: 17 Funds Self-Styled As ‘Ethical’

By Richard Howard

The list below are all the funds in our database that describe themselves as ‘ethical’. Please be aware that we have not verified that the funds meet any particular standard on ethical investments.

At Green Finance Guide we have created a search and analysis tool, Search My Fund, which will speed up the process of displaying a fund’s underlying investments. This is a BETA release and we are continuing to adding features and data all the time. There are link’s to some of the Search My Fund pages below.

We have also linked each of the funds to their individual websites. There you should be able to find details of the fund’s investment strategy and how they judge individual holdings to be ethical or not. Further details of the individual holdings can also be found in the fund’s annual or interim/semi-annual reports.

Conclusion: Ethical Investments

The above investments could be considered to be ethical investments since they invest according to a set of ethical principles. These are usually defined by the investment management companies own rules on ethical investments or via external ethical investment standards. However, only by taking a deeper dive into each fund’s portfolio of investments can you really know whether your definition of ethical fits with theirs.
